__NOTOC__
== What is a certificate and how does it work? ==

Certificates are a tool for [[EVE Online|EVE]] pilots to allow them to, at a glance, identify which skills or set of skills are recommended for a ship, item or activity the certificate is associated with. They allow for easier skill planning and help pilots to keep tabs on what skill sets they already possess.

{{Note|Certificates are only recommendations and serve as some useful guideline to the skills you may require to do a specific task or fly a specific ship. They do not prevent you from flying or doing a profession without having all the prerequisite certificates for it.}}

== Viewing Certificates ==
You can view all your certificate information from the certificates window in your character sheet by going to the skills section, and changing the skills selection to "Certificates", or by looking at the information window for ships.
