The Northern Freedom Coalition was formed out of resident industrialist corporations after the [[EC-P8R]] incident saw an end to [[G Alliance]] / [[IRON]] rule. The void was filled by previously friendly [[NC]] forces with little pvp experience themselves, who rapidly filled their ranks with almost anyone who desired membership, thinking numbers would provide a guarantee of security. After a number of successful skirmishes with local pirates and opportunists who also wished to fill the power void, the NFC was wiped out by a returning IRON in conjunction with the newly created [[D2]]. Remnants of the NFC abandoned the north, or became residents.
