Statement of Purpose

Association of Commonwealth Enterprises [A-C-E] is dedicated to mining, manufacturing, and defense in 0.0 space. Above all, A-C-E continues the IAC spirit with the motto "Get drunk and have fun."

Political Structure

A-C-E does not follow the traditional command structure of corporations in Eve. Rather, A-C-E has three layers of command - The Triumvirate, Directors, and Pilots.

Triumvirate

Mediek Ordos - Weikal - Monkey Hands

Directors

Rinandri - bfmReciprocity - Axari

Pilots

The pilot base of A-C-E has long stood at around 100 active pilots. Roughly half the pilot base has been with the corporation for more than 1 year. A-C-E has an active, and fairly large capital pilot base, partially to protect mining ops, partially to protect jump freighters, partially for logistics, but most have been battle-tested in large-scale capital fleet engagements.

Recruitment

Players are required to have at least 10m SP and a maturity that extends beyond the skill points. A-C-E is generally nullsec-noob-friendly, but prefers veteran pilots.

History

Early History

A-C-E was formed, originally by the three pilots who now make up the Triumvirate. Two of the pilots have been in Eve since beta and have been known to share stories of the "good ole days" with new pilots. Such stories include asking in local "So, now what do I do?" to the answer of "Go mine" as well as reminiscing about the early stability of the pilot experience.

Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate [IAC]

A-C-E joined Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate early on and stuck with it until the bitter end. A-C-E was involved in the defend of IAC during the invasion by MC and BoB which further polarized alliances, leading to the Great War. At the time, A-C-E was entirely industrial, so their contribution was seen in the form of supplying the enormous coalition force that eventually pushed the GBC force out of IAC space. Many pilots who were not in A-C-E at the time, never-the-less flew in the fleet-o-noobs during these battles. It was this interaction that would later lead to A-C-E developing a PVP pilot base.

A-C-E survived the multiple attempts by leadership to form a single super-corp within IAC, absorbing new members during this time. In the end, A-C-E leadership decided to pull assets out and provide the PVP pilots with a stockpile of T1 cruisers in the desperate last-stand against -A-. However, when other local alliances saw the situation and also reset IAC, A-C-E recalled all pilots and left the alliance.

Foundati0n [FND]

A-C-E found a new home in GW with FND after the collapse of IAC. As many of the PVP pilot base in A-C-E were former low sec pirates, the NRDS policy grated on them. Additionally, the miners found it nearly impossible to mine in GW, even with capital support, as the area was constantly crawling with roaming PVP gangs. Eventually, A-C-E realized they were stuck in low sec most of the time, despite being in a nullsec alliance and decided it was time to move on.

B.L.A.C.K.

A-C-E joined with several former IAC corporations in a short-lived attempt to reform the alliance. Unfortunately, internal hostilities, still hot from the collapse of IAC, as well as power plays by various individuals continued. The breaking point for A-C-E was when Diana and BFM, attempted a coup d'etat. B.L.A.C.K. crumbled when the drama caused International House of PWNCakes and Baptism of Fire to leave.

Sc0rched Earth [BYRN]

When A-C-E left B.L.A.C.K., they found they were the only ones holding sovereignty in several systems, leading to a sudden expansion of sov for the alliance they had been in talks with to join, BYRN.

While in BYRN, A-C-E expanded their pilot-base, and restarted their capital construction project that had laid dormant since before IAC was invaded. This project led to the addition of many capital pilots to the alliance (mostly internally).

A-C-E began to expand their market presence within BYRN space, soon finding themselves in a price war with VAF, a more influential corporation within BYRN. The annoyance associated with this was set aside when BYRN found itself invaded by Aggro. During this time, A-C-E PVP pilots saw a lot of combat. During this time, mining operations all but ceased. A-C-E began supplying the market through carrier/freighter down-time smuggling of supplies and ships, keeping BYRN resistance going until TCF showed up to help drive Aggro from the space.

Having fought -A- for over a year, A-C-E found it unsettling when BYRN leadership suddenly reset standings with long-time ally, TCF, without warning. A-C-E pilots were further shocked to find themselves now allied with -A-. A-C-E pilots were reluctant to support the new blues with the bitter memory of betrayal and war with -A- still fresh in their minds. The final straw was the political drama surrounding the dissolution of the BYRN charter. A-C-E began organizing itself to leave. When A-C-E saw the way other corporations were rewarded for their honesty with the "if you aren't with us, you are against us" treatment after announcing their intention to leave the alliance, the timetable was moved up to an Emergency Op.

A-C-E's new-found capital pilot base saw two solid days of relocating operations (some without sleep). Everything went smoothly until near the end. One jump freighter pilot fell asleep at the helm after almost 40 hours without sleep. The jump freighter drifted out of the security bubble of the POS shields, and while his corp mates screamed at him in hopes of waking him, his freighter was taken apart by a large roaming gang.

Gentlemen's Club [STRPR]

A-C-E once more found themselves in GW. This time, there was more stability in the region. This time, with a NBSI policy.

After several months of life in Great Wildlands, GC leadership felt it was time to claim their own sovereign space. A-C-E played a large role in this effort with their capital fleet, laying siege to the numerous RA POSs in the space being claimed, then setting up dozens of POSs for the alliance. A-C-E was rewarded for their efforts with the naming of the KZFV-4 outpost in honor of the corporation.

R.A.G.E [CTL-Q]

A-C-E joined R.A.G.E (a full member of the NC and the gate keepers to the eastern NC block), in late july 2010, and was quickly made a full member of of the alliance. A-C-E provides the alliance with a strong industrial back bone, experienced and skilled FC's, more than a few handfulls of dedicated pilots, and a large amount of awesome for the the alliance's campaigns into Geminate, The Kalevala Expanse, and further a field.

In December 2010 a five man A-C-E team lead by Fraud2 steam rolled their way through to win the second R.A.G.E alliance cruiser tournament. The team did not contest in the third tournament in late January 2011.

A-C-E Mart

To expand the reach and branding of A-C-E, the corporation created an innovative storefront. Pod pilots can order anything from ammo to implants and ships from both in and out of Eve via the website: ACE Mart. This has been a long-term project of Axari, Ucrep Lime, and Mediek Ordos. This is a significant step forward for the corporation to a level of production shared by only a few of the largest manufacturers in Eve.
