Category talk:Pod Pilots

From EVE RP Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

"Pod pilots" as a general category really does not belong under "BackStory/Fan Fiction/Pod Pilots"...

"Pod Pilots" should be moved to the main page and be on the same level as "Player Corporations" and "Alliances" for easy reference (does anyone actually read this?) TornSoul

Yeah they actually read them. The rate of articles being added has increased, so they take a little time :) Serenity Steele

Requested Move

Requested move to Category:Player Characters to be inline with naming conventions of Category:Player Alliances and Category:Player Corporations. DrAtomic 14:21, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I agree, Pod pilots can be a confusing Term, and putting it on the same level is a perfect idea to be easy to search through. Kalanosh
Signed. Better to be in line with the other Categoies described above. I hope the tons of Character links aren´t broken after movment?! --Peacekeeper2003 09:45, 27 May 2009 (GMT)
Signed. I agree with this as we need a stranded and /or a naming convention for the Wiki and this is a right step towards that! --Zendoren 23:35, 26 June 2010 (UCT)
Sounds like a good idea! Daquaris 06:40, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Will this ever be moved? --Daradz Navagel 18:33, 7 May 2013 (GMT)
I've noticed that ISD Starbuck has made a new Category:Characters page. Ideally these articles should be moved there though that is a lot of category changes that need to be made. --Samira Kernher 01:14, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
Due to confirmation from ISD Starbuck that this page should be moved to Category:Characters, I've changed Template:Character to add the Characters category to character pages instead of Category:Pod Pilots. This has effectively moved all character pages using that Template to the Characters page. A few still remain in the Pod Pilots category due to either not using the template or having adding the Pod Pilots category manually. --Samira Kernher 08:46, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

Pilots and Contributors

Is there really a need to have Pilots and Contributors seperated? They seem to be two sides of the same thing. Assuming a guy wants to make himself a general character profile he'd have to put one on his Pilot because it's autolinked when pilot names are referenced and the repeat the same profile in Contributor because that's linked at the bottom of a given page. Navtiqes 17:55, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

That was poorly worded so I'll rephrase it. What do you think about making "Contributor name:Example" and "Example (Character)" the same page? That way you'd go to the same page when following a linked name and a linked contributor. --Navtiqes 01:10, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Contributor:Name is a personal page. This is your to do with what you will (within reasonable limits :P). (Character) is public and constrained by the regular rules. i.e, a scammer could write whatever he wanted on his Contributor page, but he couldn't delete the details of his scams from a (Character) page. --ISD Salpsan 06:39, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Now that moderation as been removed, Could re revisit this issue as now a scammer will be able to change his pages as he sees fit now that the moderation cue is no more! --Zendoren 23:43, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
I think they should be separated. First of all we should have a nickname on the evelopedia (not the default character but that's another issue). As for character one person can have more than 1 character. And as ISD Salpsan said contributor page can be used for a lot more (projects, testing codes for templates and lot's of other things related to evelopedia and eveonline). --Phoenix Benu 13:01, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
As Phoenix said, these are different pages. The character pages have a clear purpose (presenting your character). The contributor pages could be used in multiple ways which should not be changed.

Adding to the list

Hi, I'm really new to Eve. If this is the wrong place to ask, I thank you in advance for redirecting me. I'd like to create a character page and add her to Category:Pod Pilots (which I assume is equivalent to capsuleers) and Category:Characters pages. But, when I attempt to edit these I'm presented with a completely blank edit window. I don't want to accidently remove all of the other entries. What have I done incorrectly?--RubelliteFae (talk) 04:29, 28 August 2016 (CDT)

I figured it out. Apologies.--RubelliteFae (talk) 16:54, 28 August 2016 (CDT)
