Overview

Eve Defence Force is officially classed as a Military-Industrial Conglomerate specialising in PvP but having Divisions dedicated to mining, Trade, Research, Logistics and Construction with future expansion into exploration, retail outlets and colonisation planned.

It almost exclusively operates in 0.0 space although it does operate several wholly owned subsidiaries in Empire Space, specifically for logistical purposes.

History

A proud name, a proud history. Eve Defence Force was formed in the year 105 (October 2003) as a result of growing threat from capsuleer Piracy within the space of the four great Empires. Starting off with three pilots, we quickly grew to thirty-five. Their time was split between busting Pirate Camps and building up our asset base with a view to self sufficiency. Operating in low sec and 0.0 they fought some of the most renowned Pirate Corps of the time.

The following year and following the first of what would become several large scale thefts from the corporation. Eve Defence Force was forced to evolve and joined its first Alliance. The Freespace Alliance was a young and minor Alliance renting space from the then powerhouse ATUK corporation. This was our first foray into 0.0 and taught us many lessons of what would become a very successful future.

By the time of our third year, we'd joined the then Major Alliance, the Xetic Federation. Xetic controlled a vast area of space ranging from Feythabolis in the South to Immensea in the North (full map of the era can be found here: http://ansalon.cz/eve/map/latest.jpg). Rapidly growing in size, it was here Eve Defence Force would get its first taste of major combat fighting Force of Evil (FoE) from the very outset. It wasn't long before the roving eye of a more powerful Alliance spread over our territory and combined with some allegedly appalling diplomacy, The 5 Alliance declared war on XETIC. At this time we where living in the Tenerifis Region and whilst we didn't take the brunt of the attack, we did take our fair share but managed to hold the region until XETIC finally tore itself apart through a combination of internal bickering and lack of participation in defensive operations.

From the ashes of Xetic Federation, Ascendant Frontier (ASCN) was formed from the corporations that participated most in the defence of XETIC (with one or two exceptions that have no relevance here) and we took control of the regions of Impass and Feythabolis and thanks to some shrewd diplomacy backed up by powerful fleets and a solidity lacking in the former XETIC, a deal was struck with The5 and a peace settled over the region. This isn't to say that all was peaceful because a lot of work was still needed to consolidate and develop what would later become the breif Empire of Ascendant Frontier. During this time Eve Defence Force grew in stature building up numbers to the extent that it briefly became Eve's largest corporation with more than 500 members, as well as in riches building two outposts, including Eve's first Amarrian Outpost, conquering a third as part of the Paragon Soul campaign, and in experience and power, often bringing 50+ members to a fleet fight.

Sadly, post ASCN, Eve Defence Force's fortunes went down hill. Suffering what would be our third major theft (~30 bn ISK in assets), as well as a large exodus of members, we joined first PURE Alliance, a minor member of the Northern Coalition, then Praesidium Libertatus (PRAES), an exclusively PvP Alliance, before finally joining Insurgency towards the end of our fourth year. Achieving great things in each, we lacked the one vital element for a successful corporation - stability. After Insurgency's demise, we moved briefly to the Interstellar Alcohol Conglomerate (or IAC for short), before joining the Resurgency and later Imperial Republic of the North.

Now in our sixth year, "Eve Defence Force" is a proud member of the Systematic Chaos (Sys-K), so far, finally has the stability it needs.

Structure

As stated above, "Eve Defence Force" is a Military-Industrial Conglomerate comprising of the following Divisions:

  • Corporate Fleet Division
  • Moon Acquisition and Resource Collection (M.A.R.C.)
  • Advanced Research and Engineering Division (A.R.E.D.)
  • S.T.A.R. Enterprises

Corporate Fleet Division

Whilst Eve Defence Force's official classification is a Military-Industrial Conglomerate, the largest Division is the Corporate Fleet Division comprising of almost 80% of the total member base. These members have extensive combat experience, are highly skilled and very well equipped and all are veteran PvPers. Members of this division must have prior PvP experience, 20 million skill points in combat alone as a minimum as well as being able to use Large T2 guns and either a Remote Rep Battleship or Interdictor.

Moon Acquisition and Resource Collection

Moon Acquisition and Resource Collection or M.A.R.C., as it is better known, actually started out being our mining Division. When Moon mining technology was launched, it expanded its operations to encompass moon mining. Later, as the ability to sustain any kind of mining Operations, and the complexities of moon acquisition needing careful planning both militarily, commercially and logistically, increased, the division once again evolved to deal exclusively with Moons.

These days this division is not only responsible for moon mining, but identifying military targets for moon Acquisition as well as the deployment of defensive POS towers and structures.

Advanced Research and Engineering Division.

Advanced Research and Engineering Division or A.R.E.D, to give it it's short form, is the R&D Division of "Eve Defence Force". Invention and Construction are the order of the day here.

Sales Trade Acquisitions & Retail

Sales Trade And Retail or S.T.A.R., as it's popularly known is the Logistics and Retail section of Eve Defence Force and includes the Office of the Quartermaster, the department responsible for ensuring Corporate hangers are stocked and member's assets are moved. It is also responsible for combat logistics such as deployment of POS as well as more traditional commercial aspects of trading and selling what we build.
