Creation

Queens of the Stone Age is a small gang pvp centric corp founded by Weirda on the 30th of March 2004. QotSA began it's work as a corp in early 2006.

Initial Qotsa members were primarily friends from Archon Industries. The Birth of QotSA coincided with the birth of an external website Scrapheap Challenge created by a disenchanted Minmatar capsuleer named Calmdown. QotSA quickly gained a reputation as a relaxed Minmatar centric corp this reputation together with early members high profiles on the site attracted a number of recruits.

Early History

The Core Directorship of QotSA was established early and many of the early directors remain within the corp to this day. Initial combat activities commenced in Curse along with a large amount of empire pirating, (loosely referred to within corp as being "liberal with the targets but not actually pirating"), occurred within the Amamake area.

The Alliance Years

Chimera Pact

In 2006 QotSA's first move into the alliance theatre was joining the now defunct Chimera Pact alliance. It could be said that Pact was hampered by it's youth and QotSA parted company with them after a few months.

Anarchy Empire

In 2007 QotSA moved to the Anarchy Empire alliance and based out of the Syndicate region ("Sunny Syndicate, the home of pew pew"); it was here that the corp discovered it's niche, blossoming as a corp specialising in small ship warfare with the ability to reship into large hulls to bolster special taskforces. Fellow members of Anarchy included Celtic Anarchy, Yanks.

In 2008 Anarchy Empire left Syndicate and moved to join up with Cult of War in Great Wildlands basing out of M-M3DB. After quickly securing several key systems and crushing the local resistance Anarchy Empire and Cult of War were called upon to help Infinitus Odium in Geminate against Smash and Roadkill alliance.

With CoW and RIOT joining INFOD the trio pushed Smashkill to the limits and their fleet numbers drastically declined. After only a few weeks the trio had gained enough momentum and easily took one of Smahkills entry point outposts. This was promptly lost as the intension was never to hold it (lulz). The following few weeks saw CoW, RIOT and INFOD focusing on any industrial moon resource that Smashkill had in the region.

In late 2007 RIOT was again called upon by an old ally M.Corp. M.Corp was fighting a POS war with RAZOR Alliance up in Tenal. There was much doubt amongst the directors in QotSA whether the type of warfare was the right one for the corp. Both the members and directors become disillusioned by the inability to decide which ultimately meant the corp activity declined.

Hiatus

In the beginning of 2008 the directorate decided to suspend the corp due to tiredness. Members split to Uninvited Guests and Malicious Intentions amongst others.

Rebirth

In Mid 2008 many of the original directors found themselves flying together again in the Star Fraction; after only a few weeks back together they decided to start up QotSA for old times' sake. QotSA MK II is born.

In the beginning of Mk II, QotSA based out of Osmeden and roamed 0.0 and low-sec areas close by.

Rote Kapelle

QotSA became one of the founding members of the Rote Kapelle alliance, along with Stimulus and the Uninvited Guests; returning to their roots in Syndicate, the Queens continue to practise the art of small gang warfare.

A significant number of old Queens have now returned to the fold, as well as new members.

Recruitment

QotSA has pilots in the US, EU, and Asia-Pacific timezones, and welcomes pilots who share the Queens' interests and outlook on the game; to quote Weirda:
