CINDER INDUSTRIALS is an industry-focused corporation operating out of the Derelik region of Ammatar space.

The corporation operates under the auspices of a council of directors, rather than a CEO calling the shots with directors offering opinions.

Summary

CINDER INDUSTRIALS is a close-knit group of players who spend their time mostly pursuing PvE activities such as mining, building, and missioning. CINDER's current focus is on building Tech 2 Amarrian ships; specifically, Zealots. They hold regular mining operations, and foster a helpful, friendly, and amusing environment for their members and their alliance.

CINDER prides itself on the motto "Miners with teeth." Though "carebear" activities are their mainstay, they are not afraid to engage other players who try to antagonize them, whether they be pirates in lowsec or griefer corporations. In fact, CINDER has been known to occasionally hold sting operations to attack privateers who try to victimize defenseless industrial players.

History

CINDER was founded during the Summer of 2008 by Absolon, the same man who pioneered United Outworlders Corporation. UOC had, at this time, experienced its second fall from activity. However, many people remembered the corporation fondly and Absolon was able to bring many of its former members back together into CINDER with a new vision.

Absolon, deep inside, was an Amarrian purist; that is to say that he'd always longed for a corporation that was filled with all or almost all Amarrian characters. At first, this was CINDER's vision, and so for a time, only Amarrian characters or those who flew Amarrian ships were permitted to join, and the direction of the corporation was strongly pushed toward the production of tech 2 Amarrian ships. Unfortunately for this vision, Absolon's desire to create a pure Amarr corporation conflicted with his wishes to keep an open-door policy to former members of UOC. In addition, the purist policy was keeping valuable assets and other good friends from joining. By the end of the year, CINDER was actively recruiting non-Amarrian characters. Despite this course of events, the corporation was able to stay on track for tech 2 Amarrian cruisers, such as Zealots and Curses.

Another part of Absolon's vision for CINDER was the formation of an alliance that would eventually come to have its own zero security holdings, however small and isolated those holdings may be. For a short time, CINDER had joined Novus Aevum, but NOVUS was too spread out and based far away from CINDER, and eventually the corporation parted ways with them. Still yearning for an alliance of his own, Absolon split off from CINDER to create Hyades Interstellar Holdings, from which the two corps were united in the new United Outworlders alliance. Due to Absolon's high Amarrian standings, he remained in -HIH- to facilitate the placement of starbases. Almost immediately, Absolon was able to rally several other nearby corporations under its banner, including JSR1 AND GOLDEN GUARDIAN PRODUCTIONS, Multinational Warfare Mobility Command, Gypsy Corsairs, Giraffe Heavy Industries, THE IMPERIAL 501st LEGION, 54th Industrials and The Leftovers. Heavens Elite Legion also joined, as they had long been linked at the hip with CINDER, as a PvP branch. Gypsy Corsairs were forced to depart the alliance again almost immediately, as despite their close connection to Absolon, the alliance's benevolent intentions clashed with that pirate organization.

The Griefer Wars

54, CINDR, and JSR brought griefer wars to the alliance from Fulcrum Mercenary Services, Horsemen of Apocalypse, and Cold Blooded Killers. Many of CINDER's and H3L's pilots were already excited for legal targets to shoot, but PvP inexperience caused the less experienced corporations of the alliance to take massive and sometimes extremely embarassing losses. Further, some of the corporations refused to relocate their operations to the Tash Murkon region, where UO was supposed to be based. This created a tactically impossible situation where more experienced pilots took much too long to come to the aid of their allies 10-20 jumps away. The one bright point of the wars came when pilots from Fulcrum were lured to the alliance's headquarters and then ambushed by a superior CINDR, H3L, and 501st fleet, which forced Fulcrum to flee in a rage.

Cold Blooded Killers ceased their war as soon as their mandatory week was finished, as they had not intended to wardec an alliance. Before Fulcrum's crushing defeat, they had the audacity to demand ransom from the alliance. Afterward, such was their rage that they hired yet another, much larger mercenary corporation, CALUSA, to wardec UO. Before Fulcrum could end their wardec, however, allied pilots located a Fulcrum starbase. Unfortunately, great political conflict in the alliance and the threat of CALUSA's nearby numbers prevented UO from staging a siege on this asset. CALUSA, however, seemed to have no real intentions of hunting UO members, and a combined CINDER and H3L force had to actually go to them to get an interesting fight to unfold. The remainder of their wardec passed without note.

Horsemen of Apocalypse, however, turned out to be both capable and eager opponents of the alliance, though their original intentions were only to fight a single corporation. Through sound and cautious tactics, they were able to cause a series of considerable losses within Tash Murkon, to all of the corporations who resided there. The local UO corporations came together and fought the elusive Horsemen. Even then, equal losses were taken on both sides. However, the Horsemen were too small a corporation to bear such losses regularly, and so they respectfully bowed out of the war. The Horsemen would later be called upon to fulfill mercenary contracts for CINDER.

The Lull

The wars seemed to never end and stretched on for months. The industrially-oriented majority of UOA were beginning to grow tired of restricting their mining operations and locking down at the first hint of hostiles. The 501st was the first to depart for these reasons, ironically just days before the last of the wars ended. The 54th left a little later, as they were based in Gallente and Minmatar space and had no intention of relocating. Some of CINDER's members also departed for less dangerous scenes, and others simply went inactive. G-RAF and LVO both quickly went inactive after the wars.

With war's end, Absolon made the decision to immediately move the alliance to Derelik, as Tash Murkon was becoming crowded; industrial corporations were having a very difficult time finding asteroid belts in high security space that were not already mined into oblivion, or nearly so. Unfortunately, nobody seemed particularly prepared to make the move, and little recon into the area gave other corporations in the alliance little reason to make the effort to leave their already established (and still separated) regions. Thus, CINDER was the only corporation to actually relocate.

JSR1 and MWMC forged a close bond during the wars, and as the lull began to settle into the alliance, it became apparent that the momentum of UO had been lost -- the hope of achieving zerosec holdings drew further and further away, citing Absolon's sudden disappearance. Absolon had been responsible for the vast majority of UO's political connections, was CINDER's chief recruiter, and was the visionary for it and the alliance. Absolon had had a pattern of disappearing for months at a time due to real life crises and then returning, but these hopes were soon crushed when he came online briefly to tell CINDER that he had found greater happiness in his family without EVE, and that he was going to sell his accounts. So, without him, MWMC merged into JSR1, and JSR1 then left UO to join DEFI4NT alliance. MWMC still remains a member of UO, but it is now under new management. Despite H3L's close connections with CINDER, H3L decided to take their leave from the alliance as well, as it had been decided that they wanted to return to a lifestyle of piracy, which they did not want to smear on CINDER and UO's good reputation.

For a time, CINDER was the only active corporation in UO. The alliance was salvaged, because the billion ISK investment was too valuable to lose, and it afforded some protection against lower-level griefer corporations. However, recently (summer of 2009), the corporation has become more active. The 501st rejoined the alliance and relocated to Derelik, and MWMC's reconstruction is under way. CINDER has begun to actively recruit, and is reestablishing Amarrian tech 2 production. The future is once again looking brighter...
