Eye Of God History

Eye of God (EOG) is one of the older corporations in Eve online. EOG was founded only a few months after Eve-Online went retail. The original members of EOG came from the space-based MMOG Mankind.

The first 0.0 experience for EOG was in Curse. From there we moved to the Outer Ring on the opposite side of the universe, EOG was the founding member of NORAD Alliance (before alliances were official entities in Eve).

After a short break in Empire and reclaiming our resources, we joined Xetic. Unfortunately Xetic was already beyond saving and the only thing we could do was sit out the ride to the end. Eventually a few of the Corporations split off and formed Ascendant Frontier (ASCN) which took their home in Impass and Feythabolis regions. EOG was a member of ASCN, and established it's home in the Impass region. But, eventually EOG and Dirty Deeds Corp (DDC) decided to split from ASCN. We would still be friends but it was just time for EOG to leave ASCN. Together with DDC we formed a new alliance, Axiom Empire (AXE), and stayed in Impass, there we faced the huge task to build up from scratch since there were few stations.

The industrial powerhouse of EOG constructed three outposts in the Impass region, and each were deployed while under protection of EOG and DDC military assets. A Minmatar refinery outpost was the first to be deployed in TWJ-AW. An Amarrian factory was deployed in 442-CS. Finally, a Caldari research outpost was deployed in 9ZFH-Z. The strategy behind the placement of the outposts was based on rumored future CCP implementation of constellation sovereignty bonuses (that only came a long time later).

At the time of the Band of Brothers (BoB) war against ASCN, AXE was attacked by Against All Authorities (.-A-.). this was in the stone age of alliance wars so no cyno jammers, no jump bridges, no warning messages when POSs were put up in our space, and no official sovereignty. Eventually, most of AXE had moved out except for EOG, we stayed to fight a lost war, we helped everyone to get all their assets out, and hoped that the others would do the same for us. Unfortunately that was not the case. ASCN and AXE had fallen and there was no one willing to fight any more.

Again EOG had to return to empire and there we lost most of our PvP players. EOG however endured. We bought a station in the drone regions at B-7LYC. There we formed a new alliance (XPACT) and recruited everyone that was close to us. Without our old PvP force we knew we were a sitting duck waiting to be robbed from its eggs. When we realized that, we started to look for a buyer to sell the station. OXIDE alliance was willing to buy it and since they were already using it, it was easy for them to pull in.

So again we moved to empire, although most of our growing PvP memberbase stayed at B-7LYC to help OXIDE repel the ocassional neutral/reds gangs. It was at this point that oldma of AWECO, now with Intrepid Crossing alliance (IRC), first contacted EOG about joining with IRC but because our remaining PvP’ers were still in B-7, EOG left XPACT and joined OXIDE. We stayed there to help defend against attacks from SMASHKILL and Roadkill until the station was eventually overrun by Atlas who were friends of SMASHKILL. OXIDE died once that happened, and EOG then joined IRC.

During our stay in IRC we took our revenge on SMASHKILL and Atlas by evicting them from 0.0. We have also been working on our numbers since we left ASCN. EOG lost over 300 members and got back to a corp of only low 100's. During our long stay with IRC we further reduced that number by kicking out inactive players remaining as a solid core of hardcore industrialists and PvP’ers, which eventually were dominating the IRC kill boards (consistantly 2nd and 3rd on the monthly stats even though we were only the 9th/10th largest corp at the time). The huge quantities of minerals that we gathered from mining and ratting in the drone regions suited our industrialists well and we rebuilt our cap fleet with a cap ship per member and a fleet of Rorquals.

All seemed well until Red Alliance (RA) decided they wanted Etherium Reach for their pets, Ultima Ratio and LUCKY LEAGUE. IRC/ED at the time were also interested on the Insmother region, so IRC/ED attacked RA's heart as well, the C-J system. RA was no match for IRC/ED, as RA was nowhere the old RA that once terrorized the null sec in years past. Their big ally, GoonSwarm, did not approve of this and forced IRC/ED to retreat, forcing both parties on a Cease Fire. But RA broke the agreement, and again attacked Etherium Reach. GoonSwarm saw it as fair game, and threatened part of the NC to help RA on their renewed invasion, as it was going badly, and IRC/ED were putting a much better fight than anyone expected at first. Even with the NC help (The Initiative, Majesta Empire, Stella Polaris and Wildly Inappropriate) the concensus was that it was estimated that it would take months to evict IRC/ED out their home at this rate.

At the same time, SOLAR, long time enemy of the NC, disgusted of their presence on the Drone Regions, ignored the Goonswarm's call to arms against IRC/ED, kept their blue status with it, and attacked the NC forces on Etherium Reach. At the same time, XIX also decided to remain neutral on the conflict, as it was a lose/lose scenario for them (if the RA/NC side won, they would lose two allies on IRC/ED, but if IRC/ED won, their long time friends RA would be dishonoured). Some NC elements retreated, and it was clear RA was losing ground without allies and help from XIX and SOLAR. At ths time, a civil war erupted on the RA territories, and though it only lasted at most 2 or 3 days, the failed hostile takeover gave IRC/ED enough time to nearly wipe out all RA presence on the Etherium Reach region. This also opened up many POS's that were left unfueled and corp assets that were left left unchcked and forgotten, many on IRC/ED that had previously mapped the Insmother region razed the RA holdings by the billions, if not trillions. At the same time, Atlas noticed they could have some fun on expense of a GoonSwarm ally, and attacked RA and it's allies from the south. Also, people that participated on the failed RA coup contacted IRC/ED elements, annoyed on how it seemed the RA leaders were ignoring once again the consequences and teachings of the recent coup, and much was stolen, including capitals and super-capitals.

All this, though greatly further helped the IRC/ED cause at first, later proved to be fatal: IRC/ED gave temporary blue status to ATLAS, and this infuriated XIX, long time enemy of ATLAS. XIX, now with an excuse to enter the war, quickly attacked IRC/ED while they were on the offensive in Insmother. SOLAR, though kept blue status with IRC/ED, had to bail out, and thus once again, IRC/ED were surrounded by hostiles. At the same time, more and more GoonSwarm pilots were seen in the area, and rumours were than once Delve (the region GoonSwarm took from the ex-BOB forces) was secured, they would more actively help RA, XIX, and the NC on the Drone Regions. If IRC had any chance to leave the region with most of it's assets, was now or never. Soon, many IRC corps noticed this and started moving assets to low-sec empire. Some corps did this on their own, and later abandoned their alliance mates to their own, with no chance to bail their assets in time. Still, EOG among those corp were lucky that XIX had no rush to take over the IRC space, and did it on their own pace. The DIZ station, as it was a Lvl 4 Sov, was going to take forever to go down, and only dispersed and rookie pilots of the GoonSawrm alliance were busy blockading the system. EOG, little by little, but surely, were moving capitals and super-capitals out of the old IRC home, to empire. At the same time, EOG moved agents to XIX and their renter alliances, to get ahold of their individual blue status, to further move more assets out harm's way.

After a small rest in empire, EOG moved to Slightly Inappropiate (SI), an alliance created by WI to test their new corps. In mid-October 2009, EOG joined WI.

On 21-01-2010 EoG decided to leave WI. after the evacuation out of Geminate.
