Flashfresh is a pod pilot and CEO of The Bastards, a low-sec pirate corporation. He has been a pirate almost his entire New Eden life and loves it. He writes to his blog on a regular basis and encourages would be pirates to come on over for some fun tales of yarrage!
Character Background
While remains in a relatively high profile position as CEO of The Bastards, very little is known of him. The following has been gleaned from public resources, his blog, former corp mates and from conversations with Flashfresh himself.
Early Life
Very little is known about the pilot who would eventually be called 'Flashfresh'. He is Brutor and probably grew up as a slave. His age is estimated to be anywhere from 30 to 45 but since becoming a capsuleer it is very difficult to accurately determine a biological age.
It is rumoured that as a young man he was freed from one of the many Amarrian slave planets during a daring 'liberation' raid by Minmatar freedom fighters.
Elevation to Capsuleer
There is evidence that a Minmatar,of Brutor blood-line fitting the correct description graduated from Republic Fleet Academy and was then fast-tracked into the capsuleer school to feed the war of liberation. The graduate when asked for his call-sign chose 'Flashfresh'.
Turning to Piracy
It appears that no particular event turned Flashfresh to piracy but it is clear that soon after he graduated from Capsuleer academy, there were CONCORD notifications of random acts of piracy around the Covryn area of space. It does appear that the pilot called'Flashfresh' simply decided one day to go pirate.
Rat Pack
Flashfresh briefly joined the pirate corp, the 'Rat Pack' but was only a member for a couple of months before the corporation decided to re-locate to high security space.
Solo Operator & Independence
As a committed solo operator, Flashfresh blazed a trail all over New Eden before settling down first in Covryn then eventually in Gusandall where he quickly struck up a friendship with a number of other solo pirates, namely Kane Rizzel and Jubes.
Black-Flag
Black-Flag was a new pirate corporation that appeared around late 2006; led by one very focused individual: Viper Sam. The pirate corp eschewed the usual pirate activities of gate camping, ransoming & station camping. Instead, they quickly developed fast battle cruiser based gangs with some logistical support and roamed far and wide. They gained a reputation for providing a stiff challenge in most fleet engagements. Black-Flag also dedicated some of its resources into muscling into the illegal booster market that was monopolised.
Sudden personality clashes and the long term AWOL status of the founder and CEO meant that Black-Flag lost focus. Over time, the pirates drifted off to other areas and activities. Sarvic, late of Black-Flag had joined up with The Bastards. Jubes joined Mean Corp. Others simply disappeared into New Eden's vast population. Flashfresh was the last to leave Black-Flag. After being approached by numerous pirate organisations to join up, Flashfresh decided to take up The Bastards' offer and reluctantly left Black-Flag.
The Bastards
In late 2008, Flashfresh signed up with The Bastards and found some more ex-Black-Flag colleagues. He soon became recruitment officer for The Bastards.
Middle of 2009, Flashfresh was asked to step up as CEO to replace RoninData who had to take time off.
Ships that Flashfresh likes to fly
Flash is skilled in most things Minmatar and his favourite ship is the hurricane-class battle cruiser. He has been flying this ship type since it came out. Rather than go through various ship set-ups which can be found in dozens of online resources, Flash just wants to say to every pirate out there: the hurricane looks the part and delivers.
