Habitat

Black Tsuubaaki Flowers are home in the Kaalakiota mountain foothills of Caldari Prime, growing from rocky crevices in full sun to take advantage of the poor growing conditions. Cliff faces exposed to full sun for the majority of the day, in the lee from cold and harsh winds are commonly covered with thick blankets of the plant and flowers.

Ecology

The plant is a long-lived, dwarf shrub extremely hardy and resistant to cold, with sparse, needle-like foliage and flowers throughout the whole of the Caldari Prime year. Black Tsuubaaki Flowers are sometimes harvested for use in funeral and memorial services to respect the memory of family and passed loved ones. In the same way the flower clings to life year round in the mountains, a wreath of Black Tsuubaakis laid at a family shrine will keep the spirits of the dead awake, and remind the living that life is and can be harsh and fleeting and must be honored while it is given. Cultivation of the plant under the right conditions is generally successful, although the plant takes many years to mature before flowering.

Habitat

Guval are a form of primate native to Tierijev jungles. They can be found in greater numbers along jungle coastal lines living in large packs that make their home in clearing near the coast. They're known to use vines and foliage as a pseudo-highway to cross the clearings from one side to the other. Outside of their centralized hubs, they can be found in small roving groups collecting fruit and roots to bring back to their pack.

Ecology

Guval standard life cycle last 20 Tierijev standard years. Rapid growth has been observed during the first 6 months of a new born's life. During this time, the curved facial horn of the creature that runs the length of its face grows far less rapidly, gaining no more than 5% of its original size.

Characteristics

Guval are small primates with characteristics echoing lizards found in the Taakaouka Deserts of the southern Voul continent. White fur and long, flat tails are among their most easily recognizable characteristics. Their most notable feature, however, remains in the curved, scaly ridge/horn running the length of their heads. The lower part of the ridge ends in a small mouth full of teeth specially made to rip into fruit and roots dug up by deft hands ripped with sharp claws. Despite these dangerous tools, there has not been any instance of a Guval attacking a human.
