| style="text-align:justify;padding:1.0em;" | Monoliths are a mystery of significance. They are conspicuous and unlike anything else in New Eden. They yield no secrets, no information, no clues as to their origins, age, purpose, or creators. Scanners of all types, including Entosis Links are all but useless tools upon them. Striking in their appearance, yet silent, seemingly inert and obdurate, the Monoliths are one of the true great mysteries of New Eden, yet they are bound to our existence somehow, found in or near locations of archaeological importance and most certainly have been known to the Sleepers, entities also bound in some way to our consciousness and being. Visible yet stubbornly silent, it is ironic that the things most striking when seen are sometimes the most perplexing to comprehend. The unseen universe is far less confusing...

===Devil's Dig Archaeological Site===

|-

| style="text-align:justify;padding:1.0em;" | The Devil’s Dig archaeological site is located in Otitoh in the Okkelen constellation. This is all very factual of course, and there’s no need for me to repeat what’s already been written about the place but I will add some thoughts on the so-called ''Sun Reader'' monolith I observed there, the monolith at Dead End and in those I’ve come across in some wormhole systems.

The New Eden monoliths are bizarre and possess lines unlike anything else encountered in the cluster. From a design perspective they don’t even closely match Talocan technology discoverable near these objects and the CONCORD description stating that they are ''full of stars'' is most curious. They show no evidence of decay to the harsh conditions of space, nor do the rogue drones at Devil’s Dig appear to have been able to convert or adapt the monolith to their own technology.  This leads me to speculate that perhaps these objects are simply some kind of enormous space installation or artwork or perhaps that they even predate all of the known civilizations of New Eden. Oddly, I also discovered no ancient temple nearby at the Otitoh site that I could discern as a place of worship, only what looked like a Gallente station overrun by drones.

As an artist though I find the monoliths inspiring and majestic and I’ve spent hours simply in quiet contemplation near them. Their highly reflective surface captures the stars and colors of the cluster, rendering a beautiful painting of Maker’s creation and light. Perhaps this is why it is full of stars, in the same way that we gaze upon somebody’s eyes and see the reflection of ourselves within; we see the universe mirrored and illuminated at the cusp of our minds. The ''Sun Reader'' disturbed me though in its ostentatious eeriness, its obstinate silence and I fear that looking at it too long may polarize those feelings into an irrational obsession. It's kind of cute though.

===The Dead End Monolith===

|-

| style="text-align:justify;padding:1.0em;" | Genesis is the origin or the coming into being of something, the powerful act of creation. The Dead End Monolith shimmers silently with a majestic, eerie beauty in the Genesis Region, but reveals no secrets to its mystery, to its origins or how it came to be. Yet it is visible, and the most mysterious of things are often the most visible to taunt us with the reality that humans are so very small and do not know all there is to know. Only Maker could tell us, but that would spoil the journey he intended his creation, no?

Our own origins are hypothesised to fall within several jumps of this object in the system of New Eden and the ancient travelers of a progenitor race who used and perhaps constructed another visible and mysterious object, the Eve Gate. It shines with a blinding, radiant light, defiant against the darkness of space compared to the ossified blackness of the monolith that only reflects light from its surface. The two opposite poles of duality, light and dark, with a sliver of each in the other.

Do I dare to speculate on a connection between these two objects? The obdurate Monolith resembles nothing in design to any of the ancient civilizations of New Eden. What is it made of? Is there something inside? Was it already here when those travelers through the wormhole arrived? Does it possess some technology that opened the Eve Gate for those people? Are we simply an experiment of a silent, watchful consciousness that we cannot even begin to fathom? Only Maker could tell us.

===Wormhole Monoliths===

|-

| style="text-align:justify;padding:1.0em;" | I have not been able to observe many wormhole Monoliths as it is a hazardous venture, and their scarcity also makes it a particularly invested activity for very little outcome beyond photographic and circumstantial particulars as a solo explorer. They are very pretty though, even if somewhat monstrous and nightmarish in appearance, and remind me that some things illuminate the universe around us and cast the light and warmth of knowledge and philosophy, like the shining stars, those bright freckles upon Maker's dream, while other things reflect the universe and rather provide a mirror for contemplation.

===Conflux J200727===

|-

| style="text-align:justify;padding:1.0em;" | Whether by some trick of perception or quality of light, I have discerned perhaps two types of Monolith. The Dead End Monolith and those I've encountered in certain Sleeper sites appear to be black and reflective, whereas the Otitoh Sun Reader Monolith and the Conflux object seem to possess brighter, mirror-like surfaces. More study will be required to confirm this although I do currently believe this to be true. Does it indicate perhaps that the Monoliths are indeed some kind of technological device with dormant and active states, that the capture and/or reflection of light is important and possibly a function of their existence? The Otitoh Monolith is by some unknown source described as ''Sun Reader'', which would suggest such a technological link to the capture of light or solar radiation. The origin and basis of this designation would be an important step towards understanding of the Monoliths beyond opinion and conjecture, but at current simply complicates what is already an enigma. The reading of stars - does the monolith require a chart?

The Conflux object provides even more questions with the close proximity of a 'mysterious probe' containing unidentified technology, as if it were somehow studying or observing the Monolith. Are the two objects linked? Were they created by the same minds? What kind of ancient artefact is this probe that it's design is unidentifiable? I accessed this location via a Drifter wormhole and seek to know what their connection is to this vast and magnificent object that beckons so many questions and so much speculation. The Drifters and Circadian Seekers here scan the Monolith frequently. Perhaps they know something? It is impossible to communicate with them though as the hostilities between Capsuleeers and Drifters are indeed most unfortunate. Conflux or confluence is the coming together of things, a junction or union and so I ask, is this a meeting place for streams of projected awareness, of minds that cannot otherwise communicate through the vast distances of time, space, and memory? Is there some key here that may enable us to connect with the Drifters and Seekers, or some other unknown consciousness? I listen but I cannot hear. I look but I cannot see. The failure to communicate is the failure to understand and the path that leads to chaos. Without empathy and understanding we are mere reactive machines enslaved by our fears.

I find myself lost in these puzzles, my eyes taunted by the swirling patterns, colours and lights of the universe reflected upon the Monolith's surface, my mind mesmerised and spellbound, meandering upon its fascinating smoothness and seeking a way to penetrate it's riddle. Do the numerous Monoliths form a pattern or shape across the cosmos? Do they point somewhere? Where is this place? Where am I? Maker, where in the cradle of your heart and fire am I? Cold Wind, send me not away till I am without chaos, I confront the unknown spirits with the whole of my being, I am whole... am I not also worthy? ... am I not also your child?
