The Bloody Hands of Matar is a Minmatar terrorist organization that adopts a hard line against the Amarr Empire and its allies. The group was responsible for numerous acts of terror in the Minmatar Republic during early YC109, including firebombings and the assassination of an Ammatar Mandate ambassador in a station bombing.

History

The Bloody Hands of Matar was formed in the events leading up to the bloody Dober Harn riots on Gelfiven V, during which the group carried out its first firebombing. The riots are believed to have been sparked by the capsuleer Ushra'Khan alliance's February 12th YC109 protest against the Midular government of the Minmatar Republic – a protest made in the wake of the controversial death of the Defiants leader Karishal Muritor.

While originating as a youth-based protest group, the Bloody Hands soon made the transition to a terrorist organization dedicated to the overthrow of the Midular government by any means necessary. Declaring itself to be inspired by the example set by various capsuleer organizations, the group adopted a 'bloody fist' logo closely resembling that of the Ushra'Khan. In light of this, many have speculated that the capsuleer freedom fighters were directly responsible for the formation of the group. Following the Dober Harn riots, more anti-Midular rallies were held with many young Minmatar bearing red handprints on their faces as the group grew in the rebellious spirit of the time.

As the atmosphere of protest and rebellion in early YC109 became heated, the Bloody Hands took ever more direct action, culminating in the bombing of the Egbonbet Republic Parliament station on May 23rd YC109. The target of this terrorist attack was peace talks between the Ammatar Mandate and the Minmatar Republic. Ammatar Consulate ambassador Faulk Stian was one of 42 people killed in the explosion. After the Egbonbet bombing, a large counter-terrorism effort was mounted by the Republic and the Bloody Hands went to ground, the group's profile remaining low for years afterwards. However, its status as one of the most dangerous terrorist organizations emanating from the Republic has never been rescinded and members of the Bloody Hands of Matar are actively hunted by the RSS to this day.

"We will not sit idly by while our Republic kowtows to these race traitors who sold us out to the Amarr and even now keep our people in bondage. How dare we seek terms with these scum? It is a grave dishonour to the sacrifice of the great rebellion. Have we learned nothing? What we do, we do for Matar. There will be no peace with the Nefantar traitors."
