Infinitus Odium

Infinitus Odium or INFOD as it is better known as, was and still is a pirate corp but has now branched out into more 0.0 activities in which it has been greatly successful and making it one of the top PvP corporations around.

"The INFOD is nothing but a collection of twisted broken souls that need to be cleansed from the galaxy. They do not fight for honor or ideals; they fight for personal gain and sick pleasure." --- Elsebeth Rhiannon (NMTZ spokesperson)

History

The Beginning

INFOD had reformed in September 03 after the full release of EVE. It was formed of the former members of Black Lotus Industry, Hells Bandidos and Serial Killers, it was formed under the original Curse Alliance banner. Back then it was not what you would call a pirate corp these days it was focussed on 0.0 PvP, honing skills and gaining experience on which they still rely on to this day.

After the disbanding of Curse Alliance, INFOD spent a short spell in the Fade Union and then moved into Akora for where they would spend the next few months pirating in the surrounding low-sec areas.

Pirating Days

The weeks turned into months as INFOD racked up kill after kill camping high sec gates and belt hunting with their allies Beer and Kebabs, Mafia and FT Polecats, who later would merge into INFOD creating the base of the INFOD you see today. Due to changes in EVE it was now going to be harder to regain losses in security status which would cause much trouble for INFOD as they relied on the quick fix to re-supply themselves. This led to INFOD packing up and moving to Stain region and joining the Stain Alliance leaving their pirating days behind them.

The time in Stain Alliance did not last long due to members getting bored and agitated because of the lack of targets and having to play by someone else's rules. This led to INFOD leaving Stain Alliance and attacking them as they left.

Pirates Return

INFOD returned to their old pirating area and base out of their old home Akora with the aim of attacking Hirr Corporation/4S Corp who later would form the alliance Morsus Mihi. Hirr themselves had recently moved back to the area to recoup after alliance life but was not greeted with a warm welcome from INFOD's old allies FT Polecats who had been harassing them ever since they returned. INFOD and FTP worked together to attack Hirr causing great damage but as the momentum was building for INFOD their attention was pulled in another direction, that of helping Mortis Angelus fend off the alarming amount of corporations declaring war against them, this called for INFOD to move into Ingunn during this time FTP had disbanded and merged into INFOD adding such members as DaMiGe and Dr Kojak. With the combination of INFOD and MORTS they were able to fend of their enemies which for once in a long time created a time of peace for the corps.

Veritas Odium

INFOD once again left their pirating ways behind them and joined the alliance Veritas Immortalis, this brought INFOD into a new world of alliance warfare and region conquering. At the time INFOD joined -V-, the alliance were in an intense war with Red Alliance (RA) which meant they went in at the deep end of things. After months of fighting INFOD had helped -V- and allies take control over the eastern regions of Scalding Pass, Detorid, Insmother and Wicked Creek. With RA defeated for now this led to a lack of targets which led some of INFOD back to pirating. This practice was at the time frowned upon by -V-, because of this a breakaway corp was created; Broken Rudder with the likes of DaMiGe, Dr Kojak, Mack McConnell, Fluffy Rabbit, Grant Smith and Dark' Lord leaving to form this splinter corp.

3 Months after Broken Rudder was created INFOD left -V- meaning Rudder re-merged with INFOD taking back their respective roles within.

Namtz'aar k'in Wars Part 1

Infinitus Odium, after leaving -V- returned to pirating just outside of the Great Wildlands in the Molden Heath region. INFOD was not greeted well by the local anti-pirates and "owners" of this lowsec the Namtz'aar k'in alliance (NMTZ) who policed the area. This provided a constant flow of targets for INFOD. Because INFOD was the largest threat in the area, NMTZ concentrated on trying to eradicate INFOD from the region. At this time INFOD was still a smaller corp only numbering around 80 members with NMTZ outnumbering INFOD by nearly 10 to 1, which proved to be a problem, but not a large enough problem that it was unsurmountable.

After a few weeks of being in the area the 1st Concord sanctioned war was put in place by NMTZ, this took away the advantage of sentry cover which aided INFOD in the fighting, this war was relatively short compared to the wars that were still to come only a few weeks later. INFOD had to resort to more guerrilla tactics, baiting NMTZ gangs into traps, which proved to be a highly successful strategy. Even though the war ended the fighting did not INFOD was growing and was finding it easier to get numbers in fleets similar to the ones of NMTZ but still not enough to ever have a sure thing.

After months fighting other local pirate corps joined INFOD’s cause to creating a free Molden Heath in their vision. This led to a sequence of consecutive war decs against NMTZ by INFOD and their new found allies. Both INFOD and NMTZ had secured a few systems of their own in the region on opposite sides of the choke points the main one being Bosena where highsec and lowsec meet. INFOD and allies devised a plan that could of rid Molden Heath of NMTZ, a wardec was put in place by INFOD and allies, along with them the Mercenary Coalition helped out by declaring war on NMTZ and concentrating on their POS's, this left INFOD and allies to do the fleet combat. This proved to be a successful plan, lasting around a month of fighting but NMTZ could not be eradicated before INFOD chose to withdraw the war declaration, instead turning their focus to aiding old friends in trouble in the near by 0.0 of Great Wildlands. This left the weaker allies of INFOD unable to continue the offensive to the same extent without the numbers and fire power INFOD brought to the coalition.

War for the Wildlands

INFOD returned to Great Wildlands to aid their former alliance and old friends Veritas Immortalis who were loosing space and fighting for their survival in Scalding Pass, INFOD's job was to hold Great Wildlands and fend off the incoming enemies of Imperium Alliance (IMP), Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT), Foundation (FDN) and other smaller alliances/corporations.

The fight started on the back foot for INFOD due to IMP/TNT/FDN already being established in GW but this did not discourage INFOD, instead it drove them to be successful as failure was not an option and would have led to the end of -V-. INFOD never known for their patience immediate set up fleets every day numbering between 20-50 members, sending them into the HQ of IMP/TNT E02, these actions forced IMP/TNT into concentrating on keeping control over their space rather than aiding the demise of -V-. The fighting that took place was fierce ending in hundred of ship losses for all parties involved IMP bearing the brunt of the onslaught by INFOD, after 2 months of fighting INFOD had earned themselves a secure foothold in the region by evicting FDN from N-DQ and into the neighbouring lowsec, this ended any influence FDN had on the war.

INFOD now had control of the lowsec to 0.0 route from Egbinger - E02/N-DQ , this took away some of the mobility that IMP/TNT had, INFOD next target was the direct route from E02 to lowsec for this task INFOD enlisted the Hegfunden Pact(PACT) to aid them. This saw the largest fleet used in the war of 120 INFOD and PACT members descended upon the entrance system of 7Q-, as well as the largest fleet in the war being used it also saw the first proper use of INFOD capital ships. The combined allied forced locked down the system for several hours blockading all entrances with gate camps and warp disruption bubbles, as a large deathstar POS was erected at one of the systems many moons which was to be used as a forward base. Due to the sheer size of the fleet involved there was no resistance from IMP/TNT, however the coming week would see the near destruction of an INFOD carrier in a fight that would take place in the early hours of the evening and last right through into the night. This was the last major engagement before -V- retreated back into Great Wildlands after loosing Scalding Pass. INFOD had completed their task but that was not the end of the fight.

INFOD/-V- would carry on fighting IMP/TNT for several more months with the control of the region changing hands on a regular basis and ending in the disbandment of -V- and IMP and leading to the reformation of the Curse Alliance (CA). (TNT also did disband but it was due to unconnected reasons).

Curse Alliance 2.0

Xirtamvotf (leader of IMP) preposed the option of stop fighting and reform CA to INFOD, INFOD accepted due to it sounding like good idea and to try and make CA a household name once more like they did back with the original along with VOTF and many other old pirate/PvP corps. The majority of -V- and the PACT also joined.

The first night of CA started of on a high note with two fleets numbering 30+ running around the east of EVE universe, this proved to be the right decision to have made for INFOD. CA moved up into Scalding Pass living out off the Goonswarm station in 1v-, INFOD has never liked relying on others so they moved into K-Q in the Curse Region. CA and INFOD aided RA/GOONS in the assault against LV which would start the Great Southern War against BOB and allies. After a week of being in the alliance INFOD grew tired of the lack of capable Fleet Commanders and general being treated like they were noobs within the alliance this would spark a serious of arguments between INFOD and VOTF/Xirtam and mainly the ex IMP members who all of a sudden knew better than everyone. INFOD was not alone with the dislike for the way the alliance was run Black Omega Security (BOS) also shared the same views both of these corps were the top 2 killers for the alliance which gave them some authority within. Due to CA's incompetence INFOD/BOS left the alliance which led to all of the corps that they brought with them gradually leaving the alliance leading to CA falling apart quicker than before.

INFOD moved back to Hegfunden and the surrounding lowsec in Molden Heath.

Namtz'aar k'in War Part 2

NAMTZ decided on a predetermined strike on INFOD before they were settled back in Hegfunden, their reasons being from false Intel acquired that INFOD was weak from fighting in 0.0 space but it couldn't have been further from the truth. INFOD now was larger, wealthier and were even angry at incidents that happened and helped determine the leave from CA.

NAMTZ did not realise their mistake until they had already declared war upon INFOD just moments after they left CA. Precisely one hour before the war declaration was official, INFOD had a 40 man fleet with capital support in the NAMTZ headquarter system of Hedaleolfarber. This was the wake up call for NAMTZ although they managed to amass a fleet of equal size it was crushed by INFOD, by the third day of the war INFOD had killed well over 200+ NAMTZ ships to 0 losses. The complete dominance of INFOD would carry on throughout the upcoming weeks until NAMTZ High Command were forced to change tactics and avoid open fleet combat at all costs and try more guerrilla hit and run style tactics.

The new tactics used by NAMTZ were effective at reducing their losses but were not enough to be able to cause any real damage to INFOD. INFOD seizing the opportunity started to blockade the routes from highsec to the lowsec area, creating a strain on NAMTZ supplies. The fighting was not just in eve itself but also on the public forums where the propaganda from both sides filling page after page. NAMTZ trying to gain allies to help fight INFOD (which was not a hard task due the relatively mutual dislike for INFOD in the area) whilst INFOD were trying to extort locals by charging fees for protection.

The war had escalated to the level where both parties made it mutual so no war fees were paid and neither side could retract from the war without surrendering; this would be the war to end the rivalry once and for all.

NAMTZ were able to enlist the help of their old friends 5th Column Alliance (5thC) and FDN to aid in the fighting along with smaller corps still willing to help, even though most local corps had either moved out or were willing to pay for protection which offcourse did not sit well with NAMTZ but at this time they had no choice in the matter being confined to a few systems for most of the day and night. INFOD wanting to keep their momentum going declared war on 5thC and started to assault FDN as well. Both NAMTZ/5thC had their HQ's in Hedal which still remained dangerous in smaller groups due to the large concentration of enemies and only one jump gate in and out.

After about two months of fighting NAMTZ/5thC and FDN stopped bringing people to fight due to it looking hopeless for them to succeed in causing any real damage. INFOD ruled supreme in the area but it wasn't good enough as although NAMTZ had started this war INFOD was determined to finish it and them off, they fixed a plan to accomplish this goal and to remove the deadlock by sieging the system of Hedal as up until now no POS were touched. They were either going to have to come and fight to protect their assets or loose billions. As the plan went into action INFOD put 6 of the 9 or so towers into reinforced in one night and waited for any response from NAMTZ or 5thC, there was nothing until INFOD went back to finish of the towers that were out of reinforced and able to be destroyed. Whilst INFOD went to siege the towers 5thC gathered not one but two fleets to engage and try and protect their POS, both of these fleets were destroyed with only minor damaged caused to the INFOD fleet. After a week of sieging NAMTZ and 5thC started to drop in members drastically, the executor corp for NAMTZ left and rejoined an old alliance, 5thC's head Fleet Commander left leaving them with no real direction in PvP. The goal that INFOD had setup had been complete after years of fighting the victor was decided and it was INFOD that had came out on top. NAMTZ and 5thC had move out of the area and therefore had no real presence leaving the pirates to cut down anything they wanted without a fear a blob coming. The very people who swore to protect the area had been destroyed and what was left of them had abandoned the area.

Once the celebrations were over, INFOD relaxed for a couple of weeks before moving down into the Forge regions, to deal with a new target.

SmashKill

INFOD, once done with NAMTZ moved up north back into old stomping grounds of the Akora pipeline, just below Geminate region. INFOD originally had no intention of going into full scale war with Smash and Roadkill Alliance (SmashKill) but after a few attempts by SmashKill to disrupt INFOD's lowsec operations, INFOD not ones to run from a fight took the fight into SmashKill Territory. This new aggressive action by INFOD brought about the first major engagement between the two sides in the system OEY-OR, this very first engagement put INFOD's Fleet Command to the test straight away due to SmashKill sandwiching the INFOD fleet of 51 between two fleets of their own, luckily their timing was not so good allowing info to destroy most of the first fleet by the time the other was able to join in and complete the pincer movement. The fight lasted 20 minutes of constant shooting and in the end it was INFOD that prevailed with only 2 ship losses to 81 killed. By 3 days in INFOD's allies COW alliance and Anarchy Empire (AE) came to join in the fun. Even with the extra help INFOD/COW/AE still were numbering far less than SmashKill.

For the following month there were large fleet battles every night between the forces which saw the uses of both sides mass capital fleets in both POS and open fleet combat. The intense fighting was starting to take its toll on SmashKill by the end of the second week, their fleet activity dropped allowing INFOD and allies to hold control over the entrance systems to the region. This lead to SmashKill loosing an outpost to COW this struck a nerve within SmashKill, as they promptly sieges the outpost to reclaim it. This brought the fighting to a different level where both sides were on the attack, with SmashKill focusing on reclaiming their outpost this gave INFOD the opportunity to take a break from the front line and slip behind and attack SmashKill's infrastructure causing them more of a headache knowing their supply lines were not safe anymore. It caused SmashKill to split up leaving RK to do most of the attacking and Smash to do the defending. This slowed the assault by INFOD but not by much due to Smash only being able to control with much effect when they had far superior numbers.

In the coming weeks INFOD retracted from the war zone and moved on after exhausting the lowsec area and the lack of willing fighters on SmashKill's side. INFOD moved to the newly found Drone regions and Cow/AE moving further north and taking areas of space in Tenal and Branch regions.

The Church

After the SmashKill war INFOD moved into Skarkon system, which is the entrance system to the newly formed drone regions. Long standing friends/allies of INFOD, Mortis Angelus also moved in to skarkon leading to the formation of The Church alliance (Holy) along with two industrial corps. The original plan was to aid Atlas alliance fighting of Pure alliance but due to pressure from SmashKill and other northern coalition alliances Atlas dropped standings.

This left The Church with two options leave the area or go in fighting alone, the latter was chosen. HOLY started the assault on the MAD PACT (coalition of 13 alliances Intrepid Crossing, Ethereal Dawn, Ka Tet and more). Plans were set out with ACE corp being left to setup the POS's whilst INFOD/MORTS focused on the fleet warfare. The bulk of the initial fighting took place in L4X-1V with fleet fights mainly with ED, with The Church having numerical advantage for most of the day/evening the fighting was for the most part one sided. With the Mad Pact unwilling to venture out of their sovereign systems after the first few weeks, which led to Holy venturing large fleets into the MAD PACT HQ systems, which ended up more as a show of power due to the unwillingness of the pact to engage. With INFOD/MORTS having unpredicted success on the battlefield left the two far smaller industrial corps unable to keep up with the demand of ships and POS managing meaning the victories becoming pointless.

With sov starting to show in the systems The Church had captured the MAD Pact decided to attack during the early hours of the morning when HOLY did not have the numbers to defend itself, leading to the losses of most of the POS's that had been put in place. This resulted in a rethink and a pull back of all but a few POS's in the region. As it stood The Church alone was not in a position to take space due to the lack of members online in the early hours. The Church changed the original plan of just having the four original corps in the alliance and merging others with them and started to allow other corps to join boosting the numbers; DDI,SOLID,MI were the first three corps to be accepted into the alliance.

The PvP side of The Church grew wrestles and prompted a move to the region of Great Wildlands. With the move to GW new corps joined the alliance Quam Singularity and Mean Corp (Mean was kicked shortly after joining).

In Great Wildlands INFOD/The Church teamed up with old allies -V- as well as Tallonius Alliance (TA) and Opus Alliance (OPUS). HOLY setup in EO2, the main goal whilst being based here was to regain isk and help with the fight against RA/TCF/FDN, for the most part FDN stayed out of the way until during the early hours of the morning where they had numerical advantage. TCF/RA however sent in large gang’s everyday causing more of an inconvenience then any real damage, as due to the size of these gangs and their vast capital fleet support there was very little that could be done about them. After weeks of TCF/RA bringing large gangs and willingness to commit their capital ships HOLY/V devised a plan to trap as much as possible of the capital ships. HOLY/V amassed their own capital fleet in EO2 soon as word was given about the approach of a TCF gang, a support fleet was sent out to head off the approaching hostiles. The two gangs met in 52V6-B the fighting was fierce, HOLY/V had numerical advantage in support, which pretty much guaranteed TCF cap support to arrive and then as predicted a cyno is lit by TCF 13+- carriers jump in as they do The Church and V drop warp bubbles to trap the carriers in system as a cyno goes up and the HOLY/V cap fleet jump in, from then on it was lambs to the slaughter TCF had fallen into the trap and were suffering for it. In the end it resulted in the deaths of 10 TCF carriers and the destruction of the support fleet with minimal losses to HOLY/V. Later that same day RA fell into a similar trap but only suffered the losses of their support fleet and two carriers.

This resulted in about a week of peace from RA/TCF gangs returning to GW, then on the following Saturday TCF/RA showed up in a combined gang numbering over 100 and moved it into EO2 V/HOLY were totally outnumbered but due to it being their home system needed to put a showing in, the resulting fight caused the losses of many HOLY/V cap ships and support craft. This caused tension between HOLY and TA (OPUS had mostly pulled out of the area and moved on). TA in the eyes of The Church were not pulling their weight in this coalition and were not up to standards, this caused The Church to distance themselves from V/TA, relationships worsened when a Triumvirate gang came into NIH- and TA did not show up to protect what was meant to be their system. An ally appeared in the unlikely form of Foundation, with mutual dislike for TRI HOLY/FDN temporally set positive standings and ganged up to deal with TRI, the fight went smoothly and was an easy victory for HOLY/FDN; some were starting to ask the question if we were allied with the wrong people. What made up The Church's mind about TA was when one of their members engaged a member of INFOD, resulting in a revenge gang being sent out to kill TA members(one of the main reasons for this is TA was made up of mainly ex IMP/CA2.0 who still hold grudges towards INFOD for the destruction of both alliances). HOLY set standings to neutral with TA the following morning after much discussion between leaders. This prompted a look for a new area to call home; the decision was made to move into the Syndicate region.

On first look Syndicate seemed a good move but as it turned out it was what would drain the life out of The Church and INFOD. The targets that we had picked for killing moved out when we moved in leaving just the odd small corp/random pilot flying around. This would be fine if it was just one of our corps that had moved here but The Church needed a lot people around to kill as they had a problem of clearing out areas within a few weeks of moving in. As boredom set in corps internal arguments started happening mainly between INFOD and Quam which were the two largest corps within HOLY and two that did not have the best history together. Quam left the alliance and joined TRI leaving the original members from the Skarkon area. An opportunity arrived from BOB asking if we would like to live within their sovern systems, this caused a divide in the alliance with INFOD leadership and most members refusing the idea and MORTIS embracing it. As a result INFOD ordered all members wanting to go to Delve to leave and join Mortis. This left INFOD with only one choice, once MORTS was moved into Delve INFOD gave up the alliance which led to the dismantlement of The Church as a whole with most corps leaving and either following INFOD back to Tasti to rebuild or going their own seperate way.

Once in Tasti the decision was made by INFOD leadership to put the corp into hiatus, allowing members to stay if they wanted but there was going to be no ops or any real activity happening. Most of the members left into FSCUM which was a corp that was made from former INFOD members to start with. INFOD stayed inactive for three months allowing the high command to take a break from running a corp and letting wallets recoup. As for over two years INFOD had not stopped, they just moved from region to region fighting and killing all that was possible.

INFOD Returns

In autumn of 2008 the High Command made it official that INFOD had returned by reopening the doors to new members, whilst inactive a new area of space was opened Black Rise region spawning the birth of factional warfare which caught the eye of the high command. Seeing the new faction warfare area as a good opportunity to recruit new players and to get easy kills INFOD moved from Tasti to Hykanima in Black Rise, once moved over INFOD joined the Caldari militia for a few weeks but due to dislike for other Caldari militia members this was short lived. For the first few weeks recruits came in at a steady pace, such as the ambitious young Pirate, dayne steel. Things were looking up until boredom set in due to lack of targets, which begged the question where to go now. After of only just over a month in Black Rise INFOD decided to move back to Tasti and start camping the gates and fighting the locals in the area with the help of FSCUM. With the return to Tasti came former members rejoining boosting the numbers of what was a dead corp. For once in a long time the INFOD killboard was filled with Thousands of new kills, things were on the up, but after months of just ganking anyone without a meaning the urge for something more started to spread through the ranks. Another move was ahead this time it was one of the largest moves done by the corp, INFOD packed up and moved down to Stain/Esoteria region and joined a new budding alliance Systematic Chaos
