Content I understand from our shared sources that camera drones throughout new eden are expected to soon receive upgrades allowing for improved resolution tracking distant nebulae.

[ Link ]

As I understand it (and I am looking for feedback here) this is possibly the first time that our community has had the opportunity to spatially reference solar systems against others. I am most interested in how this could shed light on several questions posed and researched in the past.

1) Is Anoikis actually new eden, or some other familiar or unfamiliar place?
2) Is Anoikis a single galaxy?
3) Is Anoikis a familiar place, but at a different time?
4) How are systems, constellations and regions within Anoikis related spatially?

I think this drone system upgrade will allow for a novel and unique opportunity to map Anoikis. While I do not serve as a researcher, I would like to hear the groups's thoughts.

Content Item #1 is specifically the province of Project Compass - information to date suggests that they are very close to one another. Compass Research to date also indicates that #3 is not a different time, but does not close off the slim potentiality of an alternate or parallel universe.
  1. 2 and #4 may bear further research, but I will look for Compass' Lead Researcher, Mark726, to comment on that.

Content Special thanks to Rhavas (again) for noting this before I managed to check my messages for the day.

As Rhavas noted, all of these questions either directly or tangentially relate to ongoing Project Compass research. Updated links to my research and data can be found here.

Without recreating my research papers, suffice it to say that each of these questions are under current research by me. Indeed, there is a potential new research method that I'll be embarking on once I hear back from Eifyr on its feasibility. It should answer not only questions 1 and 4, but also 2 and 3. That said, current research does point to Anoikis being fairly close to New Eden, though interpretations of my current data does vary. My own views are that Anoikis is located within approximately 500-1000 lightyears of New Eden.

I do intend to incorporate the new camera drone data into my Compass conclusions if the results warrant it. I assure you I intend to pay close attention to the new data as it comes in. That said, I welcome any and all help in gathering and analyzing data as it comes in. If you have any questions on this, please feel free to message me privately, or find me in the A'J public channel. Though I'm not able to enter my capsule as much as I'd like these days, I can often be found in the channel around 0300 Yoiul Standard Time.

Regards,
Mark726

Content Many do not know this bit of information: If your corporation has 2 or more Pilot owned structures (POS) up, each will tell you their distance, in light years, to the others, including in Anoikis.

My corp has several POSes in known space and one in Anoikis. I got the distance data, coordinates for all the stars in known space (some very helpful pilot put tham up on GalNet) and I did the math:

Our POS is 830 LY to the "East" and 1030 to the "South" of known space, and about in plane with the cluster.

Other interesting bits of information: The two stars farthest apart in known space are M-VACR and MVUO-F, 108.5 LY apart.
The two stars closest to each other are Carrou and Ignoitton, 0.11 LY apart (6500 AU).

It will be interesting to hear what Mark learns about other systems in Anoikis.

Content That is indeed interesting, I did not know they did that.

Perhaps this is a tool that can be used to map Anoikis, at least distance-wise. Though such a massive undertaking is most likely beyond most of our organizations.

Content While scoping out every system is beyond my means, I do hope to be surveying a number of Anoikis systems in the future. I've been in contact with Dr. Tukoss, and am eagerly awaiting his feedback before starting the project.

Content We had several PoSes in Anoikis and I can give numbers from one of them to two others. It's 42.2 LY and 52.1 LY. So Anoikis seems to be single galaxy, acording to PoS data.

Content I don't suppose you can provide the locus signatures (or J-designation, whatever it's called) for them? That'd probably be a great help.
