Founding History

Celestial Horizon Corp. [CLS] was founded by Ishkur (formerly Tarpeia, from Earth & Beyond's Galileo server) on January 17, 2004. It was started when around ten players who became bored of Earth & Beyond moved to EVE. They soon expanded to around 30-40 people, and when Electronic Arts announced the closure of Earth & Beyond, CLS membership exploded almost overnight. Tarpeia was a well liked and respected member of the Earth & Beyond community and he invited anyone wanting to start in EVE to join CLS.

Early History

CLS was, for a while, a medium sized but still growing corporation with headquarters and base of operations in Carirgnottin. Gradually as the corporation grew, departmentalisation led to the opening of new offices across many regions of empire space. CLS' member base steadily grew as 'refugees' from Earth and Beyond joined the ranks, however as time passed and the corporation became larger and more well known, the majority of the new recruits were from other corporations. At its peak, CLS had over 700 members, and was for a time fairly early on in its existence the largest corporation in EVE, which is attributed to the influx of EnB players. At this time the corporation was seen as 'huge', and was large enough to afford fairly high levels of autonomy to each of its departments.

CLS' first war in Carirgnottin was with Mercenary Frigates (who later became Mercenary Forces). Most members were still only days old, and thus battles were short, and mostly involved rookie ships and frigates.

CLS was later in at least 2 other wars involving MF later on. At one point CLS hired them in Empire wars against the Curse Alliance [CA] alongside Body Count Inc. [BDCI] and Sharks With Frickin' Laser Beams [FRICK] (who later formed the Mercenary Coalition [MC]). MF lasted approximately 1 day and then swapped sides. They declared on CLS, FRICK and BDCI. MF then joined CA and due to the war system mechanics, their wars transferred to CA. BDCI and FRICK had no lack of targets in empire. It was around this time that Ishkur stood down and CYVOK took over leadership of CLS, where he would remain until the fall of ASCN.

Around the end of their first empire war, CLS was already dabbling in the then extreme risk areas of 0.0 space, and eventually managed to secure membership in the Immensea Federation, part of the Xetic and Immensea Federation [XIF]. Initially they operated from an area of space in the South East once upon a time colloquially referred to as 'the [stick] man', an area comprising mostly Feythabolis. CLS gradually increased its presence in 0.0 space, in the Feythabolis Region, swiftly becoming one of the major players in the essentially separate 'Immensea Federation'. All of this occurred in the frontier-like setting of early 0.0 space, when there was no Player Owner Structures (POS), no Outposts, and when each 0.0 region in XIF space had only three stations: One Cloning Facility (VNGJ-U), one Refinery (UB5Z-3), and one Factory (2-RSC7). With UB5Z-3 in the middle, there was an average of 10 jumps to the nearest station. Though manufacturing slots were severely limited, and research non-existent, the activities performed included mining of high end minerals (Arkonor, Bistot), production of ships and consumables, and local area defence. As their presence in 0.0 grew from a handful of fighter/miners, CLS adopted a more proactive role within XIF, providing input to leadership discussions and, once the facilities to develop space became available, heading the local construction effort along with the other big players in Feythabolis.

Curse Alliance/Xetic War

It was during their membership of XIF that Waagaa, then a pilot of Celestial Horizons, blew up HatePeace LoveWar's hauler and CA declared war in retaliation. In retrospect CLS generally believes this was a setup, but at the time no one paid the political underpinnings much attention outside of the forums, the result being a long-anticipated all-out war. As Stain Alliance [SA] were already at war with CA, XIF and SA combined to shred CA's forces over the next few months. CA ultimately imploded, officially due to 'internal issues', however it would be ridiculous to imply that the combined alliances' fleets were not a major cause of strife. Fleets which were, by the end, essentially roaming the heavily NPC-Station populated Curse region at will.

The Five/Xetic War

A year after CA imploded, a Thorax piloted by Cinnander of CLS (still a part of XIF) destroyed a Sigil piloted by Shredder (of Shinra) and The Five declared war along with MASS.

Most of the regions of Xetic were decimated, and many stations rapidly secured by The Five in one of the largest single military ventures to that point. CLS and Dirty Deeds Corp. [DDC] held fast to their respective home regions of Feythabolis and Impass and, having given up on XIF, left to form Ascendant Frontier [ASCN]. This dissociation from XIF gave them the ability to open diplomatic discussions with the invaders outside of the slow XIF administration system, and a deal was shortly brokered which allowed them to keep the regions.

Ascendant Frontier [ASCN]

May 2005 - Jan 2007 (Closed)

The Ascendant Frontier was born May 2005. ASCN was given the regions of Feythabolis and Impass, all other previous Xetic regions (Immensea, Omist and Tenerifis) were taken by The Five with Shinra managing Immensea, and Supremacy [SUPRM] in charge of Tenerifis.

CYVOK and Steel Rat, the leaders of CLS and DDC, respectively, were originally equal leaders of Ascendant Frontier with the political/leadership system a self-confessed 'enlightened dictatorship'. At this point CLS became the executor corporation for what would soon grow to be the largest alliance EVE had seen to date, and also adopted sovereignty over the entire Feythabolis region. DDC took over Impass region. At this point the history of CLS becomes tightly intertwined with that of ASCN: See Ascendant Frontier [ASCN].

Post-Ascendancy

After the war with Band of Brothers and the fall of ASCN, CLS dropped sharply in membership stabilizing at around 300-odd members (down from 700-odd members in its prime). With the fall of ASCN, CYVOK resigned from the leadership of ASCN and Ramius Monteagne successfully led CLS through the difficult transition time out of the space that they had occupied for so long. As one of the last corperations still fighting for Feythabolis, a ceasefire was negotiated and CLS withdrew. After the fall, CLS did not join one of the other splinter alliances which formed in the vacuum left in the South-East, but rather remained a separate corporation continuing to fight guerilla style in Feythabolis.

Valainaloce Allaince [LOCE]

Feb 2007 - Dec 2007 / Jan 2008 - June 2008 (Closed)

In Feb of 2007 CLS moved its 0.0 operations into the Ka-Tet sovereign space (Drone Regions).

For professional reasons only, in May 2007 Ramius passed leadership to SamuraiJack as CEO of CLS.

CLS left Ka-Tet space and became allies with the Goons who were sweeping BoB out of the regions previously occupied by ASCN. However a series of incidents finally proved that Goons could not be trusted and SamuraiJack demanded answers from Goon High Command. Goons reset CLS and camped them into stations previously friendly. Offers from other allainces to host CLS were soon forthcoming however and CLS moved out of [LOCE] into another friendly allaince [KOS]. Goons incensed by this called in favours and set AAA on KOS while denying knowledge of the betrayal. KOS crumbled and was forced to kick CLS. CLS moved back into [LOCE] and prepared to finally abandon Feythabolis for the last time.

Using friendly corporations and highly placed contacts, SJ and the HC successfully evacuated all CLS assets and re-established CLS operations in Empire despite Goons camping stations for over a month. With all of CLS's assets safe and empire operations established SJ handed over to Caytlyn Rose and took a 3 month break for personal reasons.

Celestial Industrial Alliance [CIA]

June 2008 - Feb 2009

CLS moved to CIA and closed LOCE permently, closing another chapter of history. Combined with a complete standings reset CLS declared a new start to Eve politics. This re-organisation under Caytlyn Rose's new direction broadened CLS's empire operations and started low security operations in the new area.

Recently Caytlyn Rose posted as part of CLS's four year aniversary: CLS is Four

I.C.C Industrial Drive Yards [ICCDY]

Feb 2009 - May 2009

Having established a new operational HQ in empire and forming new relationships with locals, CLS joined ICCDY as a partner corperation along with IMSIL and other like minded corperations. Striving to clear the local pirate infested lowsec areas, ICCDY fleets quickly drove off the less dedicated pirates and settled in for the longer term slog against the "professionals".

Mining teams cleared great swathes of systems feeding the major industrial arms of the multi corperation allaince enabling rapid building of capital assets and starbases.

Slightly Inappropriate [SI]

June 2009 - August 2009

Invited by old friends to assist in defending stations and creating a better market, CLS and IMSIL moved operations to K25 station in Geminate. Under constant assault by Solar Fleet (and later ATLAS), CLS assisted with the defence of the station and building supplies to the area. However despite regular assistance and good killboard stats, CLS and IMSIL were asked to leave as WI felt the limited pvpers fielded by the 2 corps was insufficant, WI were needing more "pure pvpers" instead of the industral supply chain CLS and IMSIL were providing.

United Corporate Ventures [UCV]

August 2009 - October 2010

Created to facilitate and manage joint operations with CLS and IMSIL, the allaince is co-operatively run by Caytlyn Rose [CLS CEO] and IceBlade Rage [IMSIL CEO]. Attempts to decode higher level intercepts on the allaince goals and motives have proved fruitless. Only Time will tell what the next plan is.

May 2010 - Caytlyn stepped down as CLS's CEO and placed ASquirrel in charge. CLS was later war decced by a griefer corperation but this was swiftly quashed as CLS's PVPers camped the hostiles into their own stations and inflicted significant losses on the warring corperation. 24hrs after the war declaration was live, it was retracted and the hostiles refused to undock again.

October 2010 - CLS withdrew from UCV allaince due to IMSIL being inactive.

Fallen Angels Alliance [FALL]

October 2010 - June 2011

Joining forces with New Eden Radio's DJ staff, CLS and Blazing Angels forged a new allaince and paired up to stamp our mark on the face of Eve Online again. Low sec operations resulted in a coaltion ensuring safe travel in the pocket. The resultant contacts were impressed and invited FALL to take part in 0.0 operations. From this, FALL now holds a station in Querious and a range of star sytems.

After ATLAS backstabbed the allaince, FALL was eventually driven from the area after prolonged fights. Regrouping the decision was made to form a new allaince with the remaining corps from the Querious campaign and try for new territory.

Flatline [FL--]

September 2011 - June 2012

Needing a period to rebuild, it was decided to move to the Syndicate region for several months. Once there CLS met with and ultimately joined Flatline Alliance, an alliance operating under the same general rules as CLS. Over the course of nearly a year, Flatline alliance dominated the Syndicate region of space. Regular fights came from other syndicate entities such as Rote Kapelle, Rooks and Kings, Ishuk-Raata Enforcement Directive, and Clockwork Pineapple.

Ethereal Dawn [ED]

July 2012 - Octover 2012

Ethereal Dawn leaders made contact with CLS in May and June of 2012 as they were retaking there space in Etherium Reach (Drone Lands). with past ties from several members of ED leadership to CLS as well as CLS's recent activity within Syndicate, ED was interested in CLS joining them in [ED] controlled space. With the lack of fights now prevalent in Syndicate, and CLS's ultimate desire to return to sovereign space, it was agreed and the move began. The month between leaving Flatline, and joining ED, CLS moved in and prepared for an ongoing war to take and hold space. While the stint with ED was relatively short, it was a time filled with heavy combat. As CLS moved in, sov was already being challenged by Soldiers of New Eve, then other groups such as NC. and Brick Squad. Within four months, CLS tired of poor coalition coordination and horrible fleet commanders and started looking at other options within the coalition, however decided to leave quickly after coalition leadership decisions to backstab NC. while parts of the coalition were supporting NC. against Goonswarm Federation.

No alliance / Unaffiliated

October 2012 - June 2013

CLS as a corporation split up over the course of half a year. Capital assets and PVP assets split to a sub corporation Celestial Security Battalion [CsecB], while CLS proper moved to empire space. CsecB, made the decision to join with old Flatline corporations in Faction Warfare supporting the Gallente Federation, and so moved under the alliance of Rise of Legion. Due to standing and security issues, CLS proper remained unaligned at this time but continued to support CsecB through production of assets. During the campaign for faction warfare CsecB, merged within the old Flatline corporation, Handsome Millionaire Playboys to enable better communication and access. Ultimately to end this period, Rise of Legion undertook the task of taking Old Man Star from the Caldari militia, a task that had yet to be accomplished by any single alliance in game. After completion of this task, it was decided to move back to a different region of space as the Gallente had just 'won' facwar and controlled all contested space.

ROFL Citizens [DERPS]

June 2013 - Current

With the success of operations joining with Rise of Legion, and the successful integration of CLS's PVP forces into Handsome Millionaire Playboys, it was decided to bring CLS within Rise of Legions industrial alliance. At this time a leadership change in CLS was well underway, and the decision to merge the corporations of Celestial Horizon and Handsome Millionaire Playboys was made. While both corporations still operate independently and have its own leadership structure, CLS and HAMPB operate together as one corporate entity. As of the time of this update, CLS currently operates in heavy industrial mode, supplying both HAMPB and Rise Of Legion pilots with assets for PVP as well as providing a logistical supply chain for alliance operation. Further updates are not yet available at this time.

Recruitment is open to pilots. See ingame for details.
