Masna Gibanica

Biography

Masna Gibanica was born to a Deteis couple living in Syndicate; entrepreneurs who had initially remained in the Gallente Federation at the end of the civil war. Her parents, whom will not be named here for their protection, were the very wealthy owners of an electronics manufacturing business, and were very absorbed in their work. Not caring much about Intaki culture, they lived in Syndicate because of the relaxed trade laws affecting their business in comparison with high-security space.

Early on in Masna's life, they didn't have a lot of time for her, and she was taken care of by a large variety of babysitters. Growing up she had a lot of freedom, since the only people looking after her on a regular basis were babysitters, and they were easily manipulated into letting her get away with things her parents wouldn't have allowed. School life for Masna was mostly uneventful. She performed reasonably well in mathematics and language classes, but fared poorly in sciences, musical endeavours, and anything technical. Dramatics, though her aptitude began fairly low, was something that Masna greatly enjoyed and put a lot of energy into practicing.

Masna bloomed pretty early on compared to the other girls, and found that she very much disliked the attention she received from boys. This was further intensified by her realization that she far preferred the company of the female gender. She made a few friends but to most people she maintained a cool detachment, often being a little cruel to girls her own age. She would make disingenuous, snarky, or sarcastic compliments about their clothes or their appearance to boost her own confidence at the expense of their's.

By the time she was a teenager, Masna had made a lot of improvement in her dramatics classes, which she used to her great advantage by manipulating others, mostly hopelessly besotted boys, into completing her coursework for her in the more technical and scientific classes she had long since given up on. Getting help from boys was not difficult for her. She would often seduce them by making out with them or letting them touch her a bit, making sure never to let anything go too far. Only a few times did she ever let boys have sex with her to get her way, and after the first time she was left with an even more firm dislike of men in general.

Using her manipulative powers, however, she found she was able to get most things she wanted. Why bother getting a job, for example, when some infuatuated guy would buy her things? She was popular, and talented at stringing people along, both men and women, using them to get what she wanted. Around the age of fifteen, she acquired a falsified IC card, and started expressing her independence from her parents. She got herself sleeve tattoos, which she was grounded for, and on more than one occasion, had to be picked up from station security offices because of some minor thing or another. Mostly though, she used her ID to go clubbing and have a good time. She didn't much care about her parents' opinions, as they were largely concerned only with their retirement plans anyway. It seemed to Masna like the only time they interacted with Masna beyond living in the same house was to punish her for something.

Masna only entered into one romantic relationship. A girl her own age whom she easily impressed by showing off the fake ID and her tattoos. This only lasted a few months, and she was left feeling very unsatisfied. She never really had any real close friends either, going through the whole of her life without anyone to open up to.

After school, she didn't think she had much of a career ahead of her in anything important, and she seemed to fall into the habit of hanging out with the shadier crowds and spent most of her time club hopping. Eventually, when she was about 20, her parents sat her down and did something surprising. They told her that they didn't feel they were good parents, and that they should have spent more time with her, and cared more for her. They told her that they wanted to do something good for her. Then they told her that they could make her a capsuleer. She would become forever, undying, and powerful. Even though she had none of the prerequisite training, they paid to have her snuck into the backdoor of the program, so to speak, and she was cloned and downloaded.

Once she entered the ranks of the capsuleers, Masna was able to live her life to a much larger scale than before. Space was open to her, and she had as much time as she wanted to see it all. Old habits die hard, though, and while she ended up doing legitimate work for the Intaki Syndicate, she also did illegal trading under the table for the Serpentis Corporation.

Eventually, the lure of the dance music, the pretty club girls, and a really hot boss, lead her to be working for the Xotica Corporation. She's still not really sure what she's looking for in New Eden, but she intends to have a good time looking for it.
