True Power

True Power is the military wing of Sansha's Nation and has, for the past several decades, served as the primary command structure of the faction. Though not a corporation in the traditional sense, True Power fills several niches similar to a corporation within the Nation, including interacting with capsuleers on Sansha's behalf. It is primarily serviced by hordes of True Slaves, but its upper leadership is almost entirely True Citizens.

History

True Power arose from the ashes of Sansha's Nation following its destruction at the hands of the alliance of empires in YC37. Prior to its destruction, Sansha's Nation was defended by a typical navy, albeit one composed entirely of True Slaves. This navy was left in shambles following the destruction, composed only of isolated ships and hidden outposts, without any autonomy or ability to receive new orders or alter their commands.

These remnants continued on the path set by Sansha before his death, mostly patrolling empty space and using their limited resources to repair what they could. What few remained were slowly whittled down whenever a random patrol, mostly from the Amarr Empire, would stumble across them.

Eventually, however, some of the surviving True Citizens, the members of Sansha's Nation who had not been fitted with Slave implants which stripped them of their ability to think independently, managed to band together. Using an imprint of Sansha Kuvakei's brain scan, these True Citizens were able to redirect the efforts of the remaining True Slaves, coordinating their efforts to rebuild the Nation.

It took several decades before the Nation's fleet was back up to a respectable strength. The True Citizens called the military organization True Power, after an infamous speech by Sansha where he decried the then-recently founded CONCORD and proclaimed his Nation the “true power behind the future of New Eden.”

True Power came under the leadership of Vizan Ankonin in YC102. The Nation's True Citizenry leadership, wishing to resurrect Sansha's dream and bring the Nation back to the forefront of the cluster, appointed him after he displayed superb creative skill on the battlefield. Vizan was fitted with numerous implants designed to give him control over the entire True Slave military, as well as allowing him to impart his experience and tactical genius to lesser commanders.

With the return of Sansha Kuvakei in YC112, True Power was at the head of all major engagements. Though CONCORD databases identify Kuvakei as a member of True Power, it is assumed this is mere convenience. Kuvakei occupies a level of command over the Nation that sits above a single division, though he wields ultimate control over True Power itself. The day-to-day operations of True Power continue to be overseen by Vizan and his lieutenants Brokara Ryver, Chelm Soran, Fotine Anilla, and Selynne Mardakar.

Operations

True Power oversees a number of disparate roles in the Nation which are normally handled by a number of corporations in other empires. The primary role of True Power, and the one with which it is most readily identified, is as the space navy of Sansha's Nation. Every ship belonging to the Nation is part of True Power, as are its battlestations and other defenses. The ground forces of Sansha's Nation also fall under the aegis of True Power, rather than being a separate army as with many other nations.

Additionally, True Power oversees the internal security of the Nation, acting as its intelligence wing and police force. Because the majority of the Nation is composed of True Slaves and fanatical True Citizens, True Power mainly concerns itself with visitors from outside the Nation itself. Those few brave enough to walk through Nation stations find themselves closely monitored by regular sentries, each communicating with each other over the True Slave network.

As every Nation ship is a part of True Power, the organization also concerns itself with mining and resource gathering. This is in stark contrast to the empires, where the exploitation of natural resources is carried out by specialized corporations who then sell their goods to manufacturers which then build equipment for their navies. In Sansha's Nation, True Power handles the mining operations and delivers the minerals to shipyards managed by True Creations.

Organization

True Power has a fairly fluid and loose organizational structure which is often a surprise to those who imagine Sansha's Nation as a rigid, logical (albeit alien) society. In truth, the prominence of True Slaves, and their interchangeability, means the needs for specialization in the Nation are few. The upper leadership of True Power are True Citizens and free of the more humanity-robbing aspects of the Slave implants, but they are greatly outnumbered by True Slaves. The majority of True Power's captains and commanders are True Slaves, some of whom have been wired directly into ships in a corruption and perversion of capsuleer technology.

Because of this, roles on a battlefield can change quickly and elegantly. The concept of a battlefield commander is mostly unknown among True Power, as multiple ships act in tandem to assess the situation and issue orders. It is only when one of the True Citizen commanders is on the field that a concept such as a fleet commander is evident in True Power fleets. True Slaves follow orders exactly and flawlessly, though ones higher up the chain of command are given greater leeway to act with creativity to carry out these orders.

Vizan Ankonin sets the broad strategic organizational goals of True Power, while Fotine Anilla is primarily in charge of overseeing the fleet's daily operations. Selynne Mardakar is the head of the scouting operations of True Power and is the one to implement regular raids into foreign space. Chelm Soran is in charge of protecting the Nation's borders, while Brokara Ryver heads up the fleets that protect Nation stations, mining operations, and other assets.
