Kalodote has always had a passion about philosophy, psychology and anthropology sciences that gave him the complete success at the largest school in the world of EVE. The capsuleer program gave his attention during his school careers and he was so interested about it that considered it a "Sacrifice for future generation intellects" and being aware about all the clone stuff in that program he started to call himself "This being".

Biography

Early ages

Kalodote Lafisques was born at February 24th, YC91 by the Lafisques, a very spreaded Gallente family across the Federation that could have acquired many and various experiences even around New Eden. This means that the family should have had influcences even by the other races' cultures and ideologies out of the empire; in the case of Kalodote, he's considered as an ethnic Gallente, but proving to have curiosity with other races. His parents were gallente but going up his genealogical tree there are some influences mostly from Caldari, then Sebiestor and Amarr. However, Kalodote grew up like many wealthy Gallente families with a brilliant career in schools and joining at the University of Caille.

The Capsuleer program

Kalodote Lafisques knew about the Capsuleer program during the studies at the university and he was fascinated about that but also worried: since the method comes from the mysterious Jovian technology, the precise system of consciousness transference is not well explained but it worked very well. Before trying to offer himself as capsuleer voluntary, he would have tried to do everything he wanted to do in his life: getting a graduation, a job, an accomodation and being useful for his country. Other "luxury" dreams like getting married and procreating wasn't necessary for him, firstly because according the program, the clones would have the same DNA of his original body and there wasn't any character losses; secondly because he didn't want to contaminate his "future cloned" mind with bad attitudes. Time passed and the graduation in anthropology happened when he was 24 years old; at that point he decided to participate at the 5-years Capsuleer program training, delaying the final test of the program. Before doing that, Kalodote started a long trip (lasted 1 year) around the known space of New Eden, visiting the empires and other countries and studying their stories and their cultures. His job permitted all this since it consisted in trade contracts, school trips and cultural intermediary, until becoming literally a professor; all these jobs were given from the University of Caille, who maintained the contacts even after the graduation and the Capsuleer transition. Finished that trip, he considered himself ready for the test and ready "to sacrifice himself for the future generation' intellects"; the transition was completed at February 21st, YC121.

Before doing that, Kalodote had written a "last will and testament": His original body should have been buried at his birthplace with all the funerary rites like if he was actually dead, specifing his grave aspect and adding commemorative words like <<died for the progress>>. 20 minutes later the transition, the clone burst into the room saying: <<Stop everything! There's no need of any funeral!>>. The will, in fact, mentioned also a small clause that indicated that everything could be cancelled if "the next being would have confirmed the consciousness transfer and ordered further actions"; That was the first time that Kalodote had spoken about himself in third person. The clone, at last, personally buried the original body at Bourynes VI but without caring about grave aspect as the testament mentioned before.

First Capsuleer jobs

Kalodote continued to work with the University of Caille and started to have interest also at the political life of the federation, discovering its problems and its corruption; he started to have contacts with the Federation Navy and working as enforcer until showing interests at the Villore Accords. Unfortunately, the Militia experience didn't interest so much as expected until to consider the militia warfare (or as he calls it, a "Shadow war") a <<playground where clones are wasted uselessly, in territories who change ownership costantly without a definitely declared winner>>. So he returned to adopt a more peaceful life, being hired by the Malevelon Roe Industries. Kalodote showed to have good experience in Researching, Manufacturing and Harvest jobs but continues to have interest also in helping the federation and the CONCORD in different ways, trying to join in EDENCOM fleets, enforcing laws against non-capsuleer and capsuleer criminals and obtaining any data useful for their interests.

Ideological view

The Federation

Kalodote Lafisques considers the Gallente ideology as the best one of the entire cluster due to its most accurate representation of the nature: You have the entire freedom of yourself and doing any action... at your own risk. According to his view, the Gallente Federation prospers despite his heterogeneous cultures thanks to the prevalence of custom and tradition majorities (patriarchy, mutual respect, natural family, good health...) who dominate the minorities, without oppressing them and leaving them a "passively controlled" free word. The open tolerance through all the cultures and people also permits to give equal opportunity to everyone allowing even exceptional people or prodigies to be noted and rewarded by the society, the same people that the others empires wouldn't have tolerated or considered them "inferior" no matter the talent. However, he recognizes also the equivalent hypocrisy the governments had on periods before and after Aidonis Elabon, who he considers him an idol and the beginning of the Capsuleer life confirmed what he thought from much time and now he has much "real" freedom to study further about the Federation dirty business.

Progress and Religion

Kalodote has always been from the part of Science and progress and always wanted to find a logical or concrete reason about all. This surprisingly led to make new questions that brought to examine even the theological part of the science without judging religions and beliefs: Despite he could define himself agnostic, he's interested about the theory that everything could be created and moved by a God and his spiritual lessons may be the equivalent of the good manners that keep the civilizations alive, especially the most disciplined like the empires under the CONCORD. The Gallente universalism belief permitted him to create a big brainstorm that, filtering it during his experiences allowed him to show interest at the Amarr beliefs and culture and taking part on events like the YC123 Writing Contest as a judge also contributed to do a review about the "Good part" of the Amarr' slavery management. In other words, <<Like the Federation teaches, not all the rich are greedy and not all poors are oppressed>>.

"This being"

A very particular and notable character of Kalodote's personality is speaking in 3rd person for the most part of his interactions. This behavior, considered obviously as weird as ridicolous, has actually a reason: The Capsuleer program, before the final test gave him many doubts about the functioning of the technology and the life in general. Apparently there's no precise explanation about how this technology works but sometimes, just the fact it come from the advanced and mysterious Jovians guarantee the efficacy of the process in very most of the cases; many theorize about quantum physics and others about physical chemistry.

<<In normal computer science, a "1" bit can be moved to another bit that was "0". in a "1000" code, if you wanna move that 1 to the last bit, transforming the code in "0001", you have to turn the first "1" to "0" and turn the last "0" to "1" and that's how a normal file moving in computers works. This means that "1" is not the same as the new "1" and the movement is caused by a copy/paste of the information, removing the original one. This means the new location have the same information, but not the same "origin".>>

Kalodote, before the capsuleer experience thought his original consciousness would have probably been just a template to create a life on several future clones that he would have used but it's uncertain if the consciousness is the same of the original and of the copies that follow, how could his genetic patterns (that also defines his mind) change during these "lives after death" (just thinking the Body resculpt certificate), and what happens if more than 1 clone could be activated at once (who's the real "him"?). Since he wanted to have a clear answer about this, he chose the more certain option: considering that he could be "one, nobody and one-hundred-thousand" (Alive, dead, or anyone else). During the training period and the travel year before the final test, he trained himself psychologically to be aware that one day, he could be more than himself and not only a single being and this changed the way he see the life as a Capsuleer now.
